Guess Summer is over!

I have been so busy learning how to set up my Blog, I forgot to write in it! Well, what can I say?

Summer is over, we had a couple warm days in the early part of August and the last of July, then it cooled down and we ever had a frost warning earlier this week. I brought all my plants in, to protect them from the frost.... I even managed to bring in a tree frog, I found him in my computer room early the next morning, sure scared the "waddin's" out of me. I didn't have my glasses on and seen a lump on the carpet.......then it moved! Yikes, first thought...... a mouse! I am deathly afraid of mice, dead or alive! Randy came running and caught it and put it outside. I have not found any other hitchhikers yet.

The temperature is 55 degrees this morning, you can feel the coolness in the air. Randy brought in the first fall leaf and the hummingbirds are getting ready to fly south. I look forward to winters, that is when I can finally get warmed up. We heat by wood heat and the house is always toasty! The summers are so cool and short, nothing like the summers in Montana. I miss the heat!

August 13th was our 3rd wedding anniversary, we celebrated by going out to eat. We had a great fish supper at the Baraga Lakeside Inn. On Sunday we went to Church, then decided to blow off the day and drive to Copper Harbor to have my very favorite sandwich, "The Mariner" at the Mariner North. I use to get a sandwich in Montana, called the Montana Slammer, well, Mariner's North has one very much like that, it is very good. We treated ourselves to a two day celebration, because we both have been working very hard this summer and with my illness, being down in June, we didn't do much this summer.

I have been selling at the L'Anse Farmer's Market/Craft Fair since the first Saturday in August. It is held every Saturday, rain or shine. So far, we have lucked out, no rain and beautiful blue sky with a gorgeous view of the Lake. Sales have been good, I look forward to getting out of the woods every week. I have not done any craft shows, since moving here in 1998, to speak of. There is one little craft show in Aura every year, except last year. Not sure if they will have it or not this year, as the turnout was very dismal. I am happy with my sales over the past 3 weekends. I hope the weather holds out. I don't mind cloudy, but the rain and wind is something else. I don't want all my crafts to get wet or blow away. My Tater Baker Bags are selling good. I packaged up some sourdough starter and sold almost all that I had. Now I am drying some more for this weekend. My cool ties did sell, but mostly to tourists who are headed for warmer places.

The website is creating more sales all the time, I am happy with that. I still have an Ebay presence, but I am concentrating on Overstock. I had a sale yesterday! I try to keep about 70 auctions running at a time. I am converting all the auctions over to "TOASA Free Shipping with MIM" My auctions look like I have a lot of the same thing, but I have over 50 prints for the Tater Baker Bags and over 75 bead color which can be combined to make countless combinations. Thank goodness for the wedding parties, they have sustained my barefoot sandal business all summer, now there are a lot of fall weddings coming up, easing me into the Christmas season. The Barefoot Sandals are a good seller year round. I am looking forward to a great holiday selling season.

Okay, what should I name this book?????
Until next time............
remember.....

Summer has finally hit the U.P. It is about 94 degrees today. There is a little wind, but gorgeous blue sky. We will probably go to Lake Superior, Saari Road tonight, to let the dogs swim and Randy too! The last time we were down there, the flies were so bad, we all got bits, Maggie getting the worst ones. Her face swelled up and she looked miserable for several days. Then she was full of scabs for a week or so. Don't know if she will want to go again or not. Can dogs remember??

I had a space at the Farmer's Market on L'Anse Waterfront (Park) last Saturday, sold for 3 hours, until noon. I did real well. Sold Tater Baker Bags and Barefoot Sandals. Sold a few yo-yo balloons and some cool ties. I was happy with the results, plan on going again next Saturday and throughout August and September as weather permitting.

Well, off to find a cool spot, more later!
